Summit Tracks:

Professional Development*
We are so excited for this year’s Professional Development track that will spotlight managing vicarious trauma and grief in the workplace, fostering resiliency within direct-service team members, and a training in delivering clinical supervision. SHPA members with expertise in the field will lead these sessions!
Peer Leadership*
These sessions are geared toward Peers but will benefit everyone! Please check out sessions on creating and sustaining Peer-led space, fostering hope in overcoming Prison-based trauma, and a foundational Peer Leadership Development session. There is also a Peer Leadership cross-over session on Fair Housing and the ADA! This year’s Summit will open with a panel discussion and storytelling from our Peer Leaders.
Mainstream Resources*
Checkout the sessions on Fair Housing and the Americans with Disabilities Act (cross over with Peer Leadership) and engage with the leadership of the new Office of Housing Stability featuring former SHPA ED David Esposito! There is also a featured session on the 1115 Waiver Update on Housing Related Service Needs from the Department of Healthcare and Family Services in collaboration with CSH, and finally a SOAR Initiative update including Peers.
Innovations in Ending Homelessness*
We are excited to partner with the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness to highlight key priorities for our members. Chief Haley will join us for a discussion on the Racial Equity Report on Black Homelessness and investments tied to recommendations and creating a renewed commitment to ending Veteran Homelessness and ways for communities to get involved this year. SHPA will also highlight other innovations including using a Tiny Home model for housing development, new resources for Street Outreach and coordination for mental health and substance use across the state and addressing Youth Homelessness through a new Prevention Pilot. There will also be a session on delivering culturally appropriate services for people from the Arab American community. Don’t miss out!
Advocacy and Annual Meeting
We can’t have the Annual Meeting and Summit without an Advocacy Track to reflect on successes and challenges from the previous legislative session and looking ahead to January 2025 when lawmakers reconvene. The Annual Meeting will also be a time to vote on 2025 priorities. There will also be training for those who want to take their advocacy to the next level and run for office!
